One Chick Travels - Emma Jane Budarick

Name: Emma-Jane Budarick
Vans name: Roxanne
Type of Van: 2005 Chevy Venture
Occupation: Physiotherapist (called Physical Therapist in the US)
Reason for travel: Had enough of my old life. Wanted a new adventure and challenge. Wanted to do a climbing roadtrip around North America hitting up all the spots I've been dreaming of around Washington (Index, Leavenworth, Frenchman Coulee) Oregon (Smith Rock, Trout Creek), California (Yosemite, Joshua Tree), Nevada (Red Rocks), Utah (Zion, Moab, Indian Creek) and Wyoming (Devils Tower)
Length of Trip: only 4 months
Favorite Destinations: Joshua Tree for the people and community, Red Rocks for fun day-long hiking and multipitch adventures, Utah for everything! And Squamish has my heart as the place I spent all my free time while living and working in Vancouver.
Word of advice: Never underestimate the importance of good ventilation when you're living in a van. Don't hate on Walmarts too much, the fact that some still offer an option for people to park overnight can be a huge help sometimes. Be friendly and talk to your neighbours. They often have the best local beta, such as the cheapest/best day to go to the spa/pool/shower
